The PTG had its first meeting of the new school year on September 8, 2005. Here are some excerpts from the meeting minutes. Holiday Gift Shop For several years Missy Heneghan has been the chairperson of the Holiday Gift Shop. She and her family have moved to Virginia and they will be missed at LES. This year Andrea Sanford, Angie Ciufo and Ms. Ryan will oversee the stocking of the annual gift shop. We look forward to providing our students with affordable, appropriate items for moms, dads, siblings, pets, etc. Profits will benefit the LES/Community Playground Fund. Fundraising Ideas · PTG with Booster: A spring golf tournament. · LES-labeled water bottles for games and events. · Bottle drop at LES or other public places. · Community cookbook. · Any other ideas???? LES Sign Another year, another chance to continue researching the logistics of a sign putting LES on the map! PTG will move forward with the investigative stage and information provided as it becomes available. Harvest Fair · Beth O.—Advertising Head. Ad is out on cable Channel 8. Banner all set as well as signs and newspaper ads. · Lisa W.—Raffle Head. Prizes: Kayak from Joe Jones, Okemo lift tickets, · D. Lasser bowl, restaurant package, and possibly a Burton gift certificate. Wants to raise the amount of raffle ticket. We all decided that $1.50 /ticket and 6 for $7.00 was appropriate (cf. to $1./ticket, 6 for $5). Incentives: Student who sells 3 books of tickets will get one free raffle ticket and the class who sells the most will get a MYO ice cream sundaes party. · Karen T.—Working on each class doing something to sell at Harvest Fair. Teachers are willing to help setup and clean up the day of the fair. · Donna H. _ Food Head. With Tara L. and Leslie B. as helpers. · Abi K.—Kids’ Crafts Head. Her last Harvest Fair! Needs new helper for this Harvest Fair to train as Head for next year. Lisa W. had a good idea of painting little pumpkins as one of the crafts. Abi will call Black River Produce and ask for them to be donated. · Mandy B.—Crafters Head. Cristal Call has offered to help (Springfield resident now). Has 33 of the 48 spaces rented. These are contact people. If you are interested in helping in any of these areas, please see the appropriate person. Thank you. Abi Karner, PTG Secretary |
