Dear Vincent Van Gogh,
I am writing to you because my class and I are learning about you. My name is Anna.
I am eight years old and in third grade. My teacher's name is Mrs. Rosa.
I love to play basketball. I have a sister, Amy, a brother, Brian, my mom , Andrea, and my dad, Bob. I have no pets. My best friend is Gabrielle.
I made my self-portrait using the Rule of Halves. Did you use the Rule of Halves? I am wearing a skirt that my aunt made me, a shirt my mom gave me, a hat from my grandfather, and I am holding a Bitty Baby. When I talk about my painting in front of all the people I want to let them know I am happy.
I learned that you had a tragic life. I wish you were still alive. Maybe you could see us paint our versions of the paintings you painted. I like you for a painter the best. I
think your art is great . I always loved your paintings.
Your Admirer and Fan,
Anna
