I decided to choose Van Gogh's Starry Night to paint my version of  because I really liked the swirls in the sky and the details of the town. Van Gogh used swirls in lots of his paintings.  I think he used the most swirls in  Starry Night. I also like the colors in Starry Night.

Van Gogh put a lot of  feeling in  Starry Night. I think the colors he used were mostly sad colors. I tried to use them too, but  I painted  more yellow in my version. I wanted to brighten it up.  I used yellow orange for the stars. I wanted to use brighter colors so my version didn't look as sad as his. Van Gogh used dots and swirls for the stars in Starry Night. I tried to do that too. In my version I even tried to paint more dots and swirls because I like them so much.

The part of my painting I am most  pleased with is the wind. The dots and swirls really make it look like it is moving. I think it looks that way in Van Gogh's, too.

If I could do something differently I would go back and put the town in my painting. I spent more time working on the sky and the cypress tree. I liked how they looked so I didn't want to bother making the town.

I think this project was fun because we had a lot of time to paint our pictures. Van Gogh was a very famous painter. I learned a lot about him and how he painted. It was fun trying to paint like him.
