  Dear Vincent Van Gogh,

My name is Leticia. I'm eight years old . I live in regular house in Ludlow Vermont in America.  I live with my mom and dad, my sister, Alice, who you might remember from 2 years ago and my brother  Neil. I like to play outdoor games like Tag or Hide and Seek.

I painted a self portrait too. I used a digital photo of me instead of using a mirror to make it easier. I used the Rule of Halves in my self-portrait. Did you? I was wearing an Okemo sweater I won at Math Night, so it is really special to me. I am holding my favorite doll named Felicity. She's wearing her favorite outfit; it's also my favorite outfit on Felicity.

I made my background with the outline of the sun purplish and magenta. I did that to make it beautiful. I have a big, bright blue sky and two clouds in the sky. I hope people feel happy or peaceful when they see my painting.

I wish you had been brought to Earth at our time in 2002. You would be appreciated more. You would probably have more friends and probably even get married. Everyone would love your paintings, but it's not your fault you weren't born at this time. It's not anyone's fault. But at least you got to sell one of your paintings.  You probably wouldn't have been so upset and killed yourself if you had been alive in this time.  It's too bad nobody could stop you from doing this. I'm sorry you had such an unhappy life. Your paintings are imaginative and sometimes I feel like I'm in them when I look at them. They're cool. I think you were a wonderful painter!

       Your art lover,

        Letty
