I chose to paint my own version of Vincent Van Gogh's sunflowers. I picked  his Three Sunflowers in a Vase. He painted  this  in 1888 in the Arles period. I picked this picture because I liked this the best out of all of them. I liked the colors and I love sunflowers.

I used colors like red and orange in my painting because they are my favorite.  I wanted my painting to look warmer. I  wanted to paint  the vase and the background different colors from Van Gogh's  because I did not want a lot of green in  my painting . I think  the green  in the leaves was enough.  I used a lot of lines and shapes in my painting.  I used a lot of brush strokes in my painting too. I did the table different  than Van Gogh did because I did not want any brown in my painting because brown is ugly.

I liked my table in the painting because it was easy to draw and paint.  I used craypas to make the petals stand out.  I like my painting when I was finished.

I would like to do one of the sunflowers over again because I put too many small lines on the sunflower.  I would also like to fix the bottom part of one of the sunflowers because it looks smudged.

I thought that the project was pretty cool.  I liked it because it was something different to do.  My favorite part of this project was painting my picture.  I learned that Van Gogh used a lot of shapes like circles in his paintings.  He made a lot of dark paintings and light paintings.  He  used  a lot of warm colors like yellow, orange and red.  He used a lot of yellow in his sunflowers.
