The Vincent Van Gogh painting I chose was Field with Poppies.  He painted this in 1889 during his Saint Remy period.  I chose this painting because it is colorful and it's of nature.  It makes me feel like I'm out in that beautiful garden picking flowers.  What I like about this painting is that it's bright, beautiful, colorful, and happy.  I would pay Vincent a trillion dollars for Field with Poppies.

I'm really proud of the color in my painting.  I painted it bright and beautiful.  I am also proud of my shape drawing.  There are a lot of interesting shapes in my picture version of Field with Poppies.  They are also put in a good place in the painting, in the bushes; that is called composition. I think I painted the field well by using yellow and dark green.  I'm happy with my trees too.

I think I should work a little more on the garden area.  Also I think I should work some more on the bushes because they are not very pointed like I want them to be.   I am unsure of the color in the garden because it doesn't have the yellowish color in it.  I think I could have put in more texture in my version of Field with Poppies. I think I should put in more different kinds of lines in my version. Plus I should make a lighter, yellowish green in the garden.  But the rest of my painting is fine.

This project was a great experience for me.  What I learned from this was how an artist makes a painting and how much work he or she puts into it.  Also I know how hard it is to make a beautiful painting.  It's amazing what you can do with a painting.  You can make it anything you want.  I enjoyed this project a lot.  I learned that Van Gogh was a very sad man.  People thought he wasn't very important.  But now Van Gogh is appreciated by us.
