Dear Vincent,

My name is  Myles. I am writing to you because I am studying you in my class. My age is nine and I am in third grade. I enjoy skiing, biking, lacrosse, and soccer. My hobbies are skiing and biking. I have a family. My mom's name is Pam, my dad's name is Rick, my brother's name is Quinn and my dog's name is Moab.

I created my self portrait by using the Rule of Halves and by looking at a digital picture of me. A digital picture is like a mirror. In my picture I was wearing a tie-dye shirt and I had a ski trophy. I learned how to use the Rule of Halves from my Art teacher, Mrs. Blodgett. I wore my tie dye shirt because I wanted to have a lot of color in my portrait, and I was holding my trophy because I am proud of it. I made the background "VanGoghy" with blue swirls. It's a special background because it's the same as yours and you're special. In my portrait I used special lines, horizontal and vertical. I hope people think I'm copying you. I am proud in my self portrait because I won a trophy.

I love your art. I wish you didn't kill yourself. If you were alive now I would treat you like Bode Miller, Lance Armstrong and Greg LeMond.

    Your Fan,

    Myles
