Mrs. Rosa’s  Policy

My homework policy is very straightforward. Unless told otherwise, all homework is due the day after it is assigned. For example, if something is assigned on Monday, it is due on Tuesday. With the exception of special projects or reports and Reading Log, homework will be assigned only on Monday through Thursday.

Marks given for homework range from: √+ (exceptional effort), √(expected effort), √-(minimal effort), Inc. (incomplete/needs to be finished), to 0 (not passed in). I do accept late work and will cross out the zero, but this notation indicates that an assignment was not completed on time.

If a student is absent, he/she is responsible for finding out what the homework was. The due date for students who are absent will depend upon the length of time missed from class. However, generally speaking, homework will be due the day after returning to school. If your child will be out for an extended period of time due to illness, please contact the office at 228-5151, to make arrangements to have homework sent home or picked up.

Every student has a Take Home Folder and assignment book. It is their responsibility to write down their homework and remember to bring both home daily and return them both to school the next day along with completed work. It would be very helpful if you could check with your child to be sure this is a part of his/her routine.
